Highlights — emotive visuals

A child stands before a living wall of sea anemones at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, seemingly absorbed in a small underwater universe. But the intricate patterns of marine life evoke something much larger: the recurring structures that connect nature, mathematics, and the cosmos. Inspired tangentially by the ancient idea of Anima Mundi, this reflection considers our relationship with the natural world and the possibility that observation is itself a form of participation.

The 4th image in the series, Becoming, not Blooming, is now online. This series of photographs explores alstroemerias as structures, quiet arrangements of line, repetition, and restraint. Paired with short personal reflections, each image becomes a study in attention: how form reveals itself slowly, how space shapes perception, and how meaning emerges through sustained looking rather than explanation.

This reflective essay explores my cinematic and impressionistic photograph of trees and reflections at Lake El Estero in Monterey. Through fog, silence, and layered atmosphere, the image becomes an emotional landscape rather than a literal scene. The story meditates on memory, solitude, unfinished narratives, and the poetic power of ambiguity in visual art.
