The Center for Photographic Art (CPA) kicks off the new year with the "On the Edge of Chance" exhibition featuring two of the most innovative contemporary photographers, Jane Olin and Elizabeth Opalenik. The first CPA exhibition of 2006 opens with a lecture and reception on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 4 PM.
I have the privilege of knowing both artists. Elizabeth Opalenik taught be how to tear down preconceived notions and expand my artistic horizon. I first met Elizabeth a few years back when I took one of her workshops after seeing her work in one of the issues of Silvershot Magazine. I learned from Jane Olin how a photograph reveals more about the photographer than the subject. I met Jane at Elizabeth's workshop and now we are fellow members of the Image Makers of Monterey.
